Reports | Paris Saint-Germain set a deadline for Neymar’s future
Paris Saint-Germain begin their Ligue 1 campaign on August 10th and have decided that it will be the last date for any offer for Neymar. The Brazilian star already declared that he wants to leave PSG, but the club are reluctant to let him go and instead want to keep him for one more season.
Paris Saint-Germain warned FC Barcelona that Neymar's future will only be discussed until August 10, which is when the French champions begin their Ligue 1 campaign. According to Sport, PSG have made it very clear that they will not let Neymar leave after that.
The Brazilian star already made it crystal clear that he wants to leave Paris and rejoin Barcelona, as the Blaugrana continues to study the possibilities to acquire the 27-year-old. The French side wants to keep Neymar one more season and FC Barcelona are yet to submit an offer.
Neymar arrived at Paris two seasons ago, with PSG paying FC Barcelona a world record fee of €222 million. Unlike in Spain, where every player has to have a release clause, in France, there's no obligation. For that reason, there's no established price for Neymar, but reports in France indicate that PSG will not accept anything less than what they paid in 2017/2018.
