Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa has decided that his future lies with Milan after his agent, Jorge Mendes met Rossoneri representatives. The San Siro side are keen on bringing the Argentine to Italy this summer but still have to hash out the final details of the deal including the transfer fee.

Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa’s deal with AC Milan slowed down after the two clubs failed to agree on the bonus structure for the player. The previous agreement was £40 million upfront with £10 million in easily accessible bonuses and an extra £7 million in complicated bonuses which was rejected by Atletico Madrid.

However, with the player having rejected advances from AS Monaco and having accepted Milan as his new club, negotiations have finally picked up pace. Now the only thing that remains is for AC Milan and Atletico Madrid to agree to a transfer fee that suits both sides. The 24-year-old, who has been playing for Atletico Madrid since 2015 has racked up over 180 appearances for the club and has managed to contribute to 58 goals.

Giving him the number 10 last season proved to be the right move as Correa turned into an influential player for Diego Simeone and saw his market value skyrocket. Milan have already added four new signings so far this summer, including the £27m capture of Rafael Leao from Lille. With Correa’s potential arrival, the seven-time European champions will have a formidable strike force and one that compliments the presence of Krzysztof Piatek and Lucas Paqueta.
