Manchester City star Leroy Sane’s transfer saga continues as the Manchester club has rejected a £72 million bid from Bayern Munich. This is the first official bid that the German giants have tabled and is widely considered to be just an opening bid, with another to follow in the next few days.

After his blatantly straightforward remarks about the Leroy Sane transfer rumours, Niko Kovac feared he had threatened that his relationship with Manchester City has soured. This has seen Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness, take over talks with the Premier League champions.

This has seen the Metro report that a fee in the ballpark of £72 Million was proposed and it was immediately rejected by the Cityzens. It further adds that Manchester City are waiting for something much closer to their £90 Million evaluation for the 23-year-old.

Reports have further indicated that the Manchester City hierarchy are not happy with the fact that Bayern Munich have submitted a bid so late in the transfer window. However, the German transfer window does not end till the 2nd of September, so it remains to be seen if and when Bayern tables another offer.

Although Manchester City have offered Sane a new contract worth £180,000 a week, the pacey winger has not yet responded to the same and this might indicate that the German international is waiting for Bayern Munich. This long ongoing transfer talk does have a light at the end of the tunnel, but where will Leroy Sane be playing in the upcoming season is yet to be seen.
