Manchester United’s latest signing, Harry Maguire, will probably make his debut against Chelsea, on Sunday. The player’s transfer has not been confirmed, but, Solskjaer hinted that it will be announced soon. It is reported that a fee of around £80m has been agreed between United and Leicester City.

With Harry Maguire's move as good as completed, it looks like Manchester United are already preparing for a future with the center-back rather than a future without the center-back. Because when asked if Maguire would start United’s first league match, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer simply responded with ‘Let’s get the last details over the line but yeah.’

What is clear, however, is the fact that the 26-year-old will have to prove himself in training and work hard to get into the starting line up of the team. Solskjaer spoke after beating AC Milan 5-4 on penalties after the match was tied at 2-2, in Cardiff. “He’s played a few games over the summer so we’ll have to assess him if and when.

There might be injuries, suspensions, you can’t think “What if he comes?” or “What if he’s sold?” you’ve got to work with the ones you have and what the reality is," he added. "I’ve never been thinking like, “Well I’ll play him but [another player] is coming in”. So everyone that has been part of pre-season is going to have a big part to play. And most of them have impressed."

Maguire will be the club’s third signing of the season, after Daniel James and Aaron wan Bissaka. United are also in talks to sign Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic from Juventus, which will have Romelu Lukaku going the other way. The out of favour striker has hinted at an exit and Juventus have emerged as the front-runners for the 26-year-old after talks with Inter fell out.
