The Portuguese star has been linked to multiple clubs this summer due to the fact that he has just one year left on his current deal. The versatile left-back was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain on a €25 million deal, but Borussia Dortmund backed out of the move and opted to keep the player.

Over the last few days, German side Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Guerreiro have resumed talks about a possible contract extension, according to Goal. Lucien Favre's team run the risk of losing the 25-year-old on a free transfer next year if he doesn't quickly ink a new deal, and Dortmund have already offered a three-year deal, a deal that also increases his wage to €5 million a year.

Michael Zorc, Dortmund's sporting director already gave some insight on what is happening at the moment, regarding the Portuguese, "We are still in talks and I cannot give you any indication right now. It's just over a week's time. There may be something else happening, but I cannot promise that," Zorc said to Goal.

The versatile star is an important piece in Favre's lineup and if he were to leave at this moment, it could be a huge blow in Dortmund's title aspirations for the upcoming season. Guerreiro has already missed the first game of the Bundesliga with a hamstring injury, a problem that could keep him out until the end of the month.
