Tottenham are keen on a move for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, with the North London side looking to bring back their former superstar. Bale, who has won four Champions League crowns with Real Madrid, has been out of favour at the club thanks to a serious of injuries and managerial changes.

After leaving a little over six years ago for Real Madrid and the glory of the Los Blancos for a then world-record sum, Gareth Bale could be on his way back to North London. The Los Blancos have made it a top priority to offload Bale as soon as possible, with the Welshman has been out of favour at the Bernabeu over the last two seasons, which has caused an even bigger problem.

Marca has reported that Tottenham have re-entered the race for the 30-year-old forward and have even named their price to Real Madrid, which is around £55 million. What has caused issues are Bale's lofty wages, with him earning around £600,000-a-week and the report from Marca has further added that Tottenham can only afford half that amount.

The Welsh international's agent has already revealed that he is not going anywhere, which has further caused more problems for Real Madrid. ESPN has also revealed that the former Southampton man has only one suitor and that is Tottenham, with his injury-filled past and the never-ending issue with his wages making it a burden to sell him.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are looking to improve their side even further having already signed Olympique Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele and Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke.
