Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has asserted that they won't sell Thomas Muller thanks to the close relationship the club share with the German star. This has caused a major transfer blow to Liverpool’s hopes of signing the German who has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield.

As per reports from Express, the 2014 German World Cup winner has been heavily linked with an exit from Die Roten over a lack of playing time, potentially bringing his 19-year tenure with the club to an end. This has come after new additions have seen Muller warm the bench more often than he would like. But Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that he wouldn’t sell Thomas Muller at any condition due to the strong bond that the player shares with the club and what he can do for the club in the near future.

“I can not imagine that. The relationship between Thomas and Bayern is totally intact and will remain an important part of our club. If Thomas would sit contentedly on the bench, he would be in the wrong club. That's the reaction we even want, but he still has to deal with the situation seriously. He's exemplary,” said Rummenigge reports the Express.

Bayern Munich brought in Philippe Coutinho on loan over the summer and the Brazilian has re-ignited his career producing a few brilliant performances. The Samba star’s arrival has seen Muller relegated to the bench, with the German attacker starting just three Bundesliga games out of seven, while Coutinho has started four out of six, including the last three. The lack of playing time allowed Liverpool to reignite their interest in the 30-year-old with other Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal interested too in Muller.
