Real Madrid and PSG have agreed on a goalkeeper swap deal that will see Keylor Navas move to Paris and Alphonse Areola move to Madrid. It is believed that Navas is glad to leave the club after Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made the goalkeeping position at Real Madrid his own.

Real Madrid have only agreed to sell Keylor Navas to PSG on the condition that Alphonse Areola moves to the Bernabeu, reports Daily Star. The Costa Rica International has made 162 appearances for the Los Blancos and PSG will be paying around £12m for the shot-stopper.

According to RMC Sport, the two clubs have reached an agreement over the transfer of the two players, in which Alphonse Areola is set to join Real Madrid on a loan deal that will last only for a year. Due to the ongoing negotiations between the two giants, Areola was made to sit out during PSG’s match against Metz, amidst fears that the deal might get broken off if the 26-year-old gets injured during the fixture.

Keylor Navas is unhappy at the fact that he has been made second choice goalkeeper at Real Madrid, at this stage in his career. During his five years of stay at the Spanish capital, the 32-year-old Navas has won three Champions League titles and has been a key star for Real Madrid in all three finals. Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane was a big admirer of Navas initially, but Thibaut Courtois' performances have forced him to change his mind.
