New Indian Super League franchise Hyderabad FC have secured the services of last season’s star I-League midfielder Nestor Gordillo, who would be plying his trade in the top-tier this time. The Spaniard, however, would be continue suspended until mid-December after he breached transfer protocols.

The move for the midfielder was initiated by, the now-defunct, FC Pune City but with the player being involved in an illegal attempt in circumventing his contract with Chennai City FC, his former club, the AIFF took action by imposing a four-month ban on the player.

Apart from that, the defending I-League champions, who have now terminated his contract, would be getting a one-time compensation by the player that would amount to three months' salary. The player would also have to pay a fine of INR 50000 to the AIFF.

Though the player will be out until mid-December, Goal has reported that Hyderabad have decided to stick with the player, who has previously played in clubs like Guijuelo C.F., Atletico Madrid B, and U.D.Cornellà. Gordillo’s quality on the football pitch has been undeniable with the ISL being evident to it during the last Super Cup edition. The playmaker has scored eight goals in 19 matches for Chennai lasts season, and was on target against both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.

Hyderabad have already roped in Marko Stankovic for the upcoming season, retaining star midfielder Marcelinho from last season as well. The addition of Gordillo would only add more quality to a side that is trying to make a good first impression.
