Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to sign a new five year deal with Chelsea, which will see the 18-year-old earn close to a £100,000 a week. This comes months after Bayern Munich made their interest in him clear, which saw a transfer request made by the youngster, one that was eventually denied.

After months and months of negotiations, it does look like yet another long and arduous saga has come to an end, with Callum Hudson-Odoi set to sign a new deal. The Athletic has reported that the young forward will sign a five-year deal, with it set to be announced within the next few days. It does mark the end to his will-he or won’t he saga, with Bayern Munich heavily linked with a move.

The Bavarian giants believed that the 18-year-old was the perfect man to help spearhead their new generation, with a lot of hype surrounding Hudson-Odoi’s talent. However, they eventually gave up on their pursuit, opting instead to sign Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic on loan deals. That did give Chelsea a chance to offer Hudson-Odoi the best possible deal, which the Sun reporting that they have.

If all goes well, then the Englishman will sign a deal worth around £100,000 a week and become amongst Chelsea’s highest-paid players. It’s still well off what reports last season indicated, but it’s a massive upgrade on his current paycheck. While the Englishman has proved just why there is so much hype surrounding him, he’s still out injured.

Callum Hudson-Odoi ruptured his right Achilles tendon towards the end of last season but he’s back in training, less than five months later. However, he could possibly make his season debut for the first team within the next few weeks, with manager Frank Lampard hoping to get the young starlet match fit.
