La Liga Champions Barcelona have still not left the pursuit of Neymar, and are also interested in the prospect of signing French starlet Kylian Mbappe. The Barcelona officials are now looking eager to enforce a move for Mbappe because he fits the profile of a number 9 player better than Neymar.

Kylian Mbappé has already won the World Cup and three Ligue 1 titles at the age of 20, and Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona could be back in Paris quite soon, in the pursuit of the French star. Club officials at the Camp Nou consider the French World Cup winner a better investment for the future, considering that he is younger, but he will obviously command a premium over Neymar, because of his profile.

The Blaugrana are also finding that Mbappé is considerably less publicity conscious than Neymar, suffers fewer injuries and is a less divisive figure in the dressing room. Furthermore, the return of the Brazilian International might create a rift in the club’s dressing room, considering the way he left in 2017, and the club is wary of causing something like that.

On the other hand, Mbappe, a former AS Monaco player, looks set to be the world’s next footballing superstar, would guarantee goals and will be welcomed by the club’s fans. However, Real Madrid are also targeting the French International and the next transfer window could see the two La Liga giants go head to head against each other for signing Mbappe.
