Massimiliano Allegri is rumoured to take reins at Manchester United but will only take the job on one condition- if his ‘demand’ of spending big money in January is permitted by the club owners. Allegri is currently without a job after leaving Serie A champions Juventus at the end of last season.

Manchester United have had a poor start to their new season and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure to turn the things around at the club. The Red Devils suffered yet another humiliating 2-0 loss at the weekend to West Ham United at the London Stadium. Some of the best managers in the world have already been linked to the manager’s role at Old Trafford.

Reports emerging from Italy bring out the name of Massimiliano Allegri to the table. Italian Publication Tuttosport have named Allegri the possible frontrunner for the job at United should Solskjaer be sacked.  The report does add, however, that the former AC Milan manager will demand big bucks to spend in the upcoming winter transfer window to acquire quality players to improve the state of the squad.

Despite numerous rumours surrounding Solsjaer’s job under threat, it doesn't look like United bosses are going to lose confidence in him very soon. Mirror also reported about the financial figures revealed by Club Chairman Ed Woodward. Woodward also rallied in for Solskjaer and requested the fans to be patient with him. He said: "It's important that we are patient while Ole and his team build for the future. We will continue to focus on the long-term strategy and won't be influenced by short-term distractions."
