With both Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer nominated for The Best FIFA award, Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick believes that both men deserve to win their respective awards. The duo played a key role for the Bavarian giants last season as they managed to win almost every trophy available.

After their chaotic start to the 2019/20 season, few expected Bayern Munich to walk away with a treble and especially one that consisted of both the Champions League and the Bundesliga. But that’s exactly what Bayern did with Robert Lewandowski, Hansi Flick, Thiago Alcantara and Serge Gnabry amongst others all playing important roles with them only not winning the 2019 DFL-SuperCup although they made up for that by winning the 2020 DFL-SuperCup.

That has seen Flick, Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer all nominated, in various categories, for The Best FIFA award with many touting the Polish striker to win it all. Hansi Flick admitted the same but also added that Neuer also deserves to win his award. The Bayern Munich manager further added that both men are key parts of the squad not only on the field but off it as well which has helped the team succeed.

"Lewy is on one side very important on the pitch, but also he is in the inner circle of the squad.  is of course a very important player who's point of view truly counts.  Therefore, we are all looking ahead. So that Manuel as well as Lewy will win their awards. Both players truly deserve it,” Flick said, reported Goal.
