With PSG losing the likes of Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva and a few others this summer, Kylian Mbappe has admitted that his side needs to improve in order to continue winning. The Ligue 1 giants finished the 2019/20 season with a treble of trophies in France but missed out on the Champions League.

Few expected to see Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final but wins over Atalanta and RB Leipzig ensured that Thomas Tuchel’s side would make their debut appearance in the final. However, with Bayern Munich up against them, the Bavarians proved to be a hard test for the Parisians with former PSG man Kinglsey Coman scoring the winning goal. However, it has proven to be a very busy summer for PSG as they’ve already lost six players.

However, the Ligue 1 giants haven’t signed anyone to replace the outgoing players with only loan moves for Sergio Rico and Mauro Icardi made permanent. It has many fans and critics alike concerned about the club’s future and forward Kylian Mbappe admitted that PSG need to recruit well and sign the right players to help them improve. The Frenchman further added that he’s “optimistic” about their chances of winning the Champions League in the near future.

"Of course I am optimistic that we will win the Champions League. We have to because, if we don't believe it, no one is going to believe it for us. It's football and you have to get over it. Lots of teams lost a final and won the year after," Kylian Mbappe said, reported Goal.

“Obviously, PSG grew up with this final. Before, we had this block of the quarter-finals, now we broke that. You have to recruit well, you have to buy players. I hope we will have good recruits and that we can restart the season with the aim of doing better."
