The Norwegian forward became the second player to score 20+ goals in three consecutive Premier League seasons, after Ruud van Nistelrooy. City moved to fourth place with 47 points from 27 games, while Spurs remained 13th with 33 points.

During the Premier League 2024-25 season, Manchester City secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, thanks to Erling Haaland’s early goal. The Norwegian striker, returning from injury, scored in the 12th minute after converting Jeremy Doku’s low cross. This marked Haaland’s 20th goal of the season, making him only the second player after Ruud van Nistelrooy (2001-04) to score 20+ goals in each of his first three Premier League campaigns.

Despite City's dominant first half, their inability to capitalize on chances nearly cost them. Tottenham’s goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, made key saves, and Savinho missed a clear opportunity. In the second half, Spurs gained momentum, with Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel missing golden chances and Son Heung-min denied by City’s Ederson. Haaland had a stoppage-time goal ruled out for offside, and Pape Matar Sarr’s late header went over the bar, denying Spurs an equalizer.

With this win, City climbed to fourth place with 47 points from 27 games, while Tottenham remained 13th with 33 points.
