The England Premier League witnessed Arsenal closing the gap on leaders Liverpool to just four points after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Tottenham. Mikel Arteta's team capitalized on Liverpool's draw with Nottingham Forest, with Leandro Trossard scoring the decisive goal in the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal had been trailing after Tottenham’s Son Heung-min scored in the 25th minute, but an own goal by Spurs’ Dominic Solanke in the 40th minute levelled the match. Trossard’s strike came four minutes later, putting Arsenal ahead.

While Arsenal remained in contention for the title, Liverpool still holds a game in hand and has dropped points in its recent two league matches. Despite being knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United, Arsenal bounced back with the win, extending their lead over third-place Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak continued his remarkable form, scoring in his eighth consecutive league match, helping Newcastle secure a 3-0 win over Wolverhampton, pushing them into the top four. In other matches, David Moyes’ return to Everton ended in a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa, and Leicester, managed by Ruud van Nistelrooy, slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace, leaving them second from the bottom of the table.
