Cristiano Ronaldos Return to Manchester United Seems Unlikely

For the past few weeks, speculation has grown over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Al-Nassr and the possibility of a third return to Manchester United. The 40 year old forward, who joined the Saudi club in 2023 after leaving United, is reportedly unhappy with how the Public Investment Fund has supported rival teams, especially after facilitating Karim Benzema’s move to Al-Hilal. Ronaldo believes this decision has strengthened his title rivals and weakened Al-Nassr’s chances.

Despite scoring regularly, Ronaldo has won only one trophy with the club, the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup. Al-Nassr are currently just one point behind league leaders Al-Hilal after 19 matches. However, frustration has led to rumours of a potential exit, with a €50 million release clause in his contract.

Former teammate Wes Brown has dismissed the idea of a Manchester United comeback, saying he cannot see it happening. He suggested Ronaldo could instead consider Major League Soccer or a return to Portugal. Brown also stressed that Ronaldo remains focused on staying fit to play in the World Cup.

Ronaldo has previously enjoyed major success at United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. While clubs are monitoring his situation, his future remains uncertain as he continues to aim for 1,000 career goals.
