Víctor Font is reportedly exploring a future deal for Erling Haaland by seeking a preferential understanding with Manchester City. The striker, aged 25 with 363 career goals, signed a 10-year contract in 2024 until 2034 and is valued at $230.6 million. Agent Rafaela Pimenta insists there have been no transfer talks and the player remains happy at City.

In the latest transfer speculation involving Erling Haaland and FC Barcelona, the Spanish club is reportedly planning a long-term strategy to eventually sign the prolific striker from Manchester City. The move is being pushed by Barcelona presidential candidate Víctor Font, who has made Haaland one of the key promises in his campaign ahead of the club’s presidential election on March 15. According to reports, two of Font’s advisors met senior Manchester City officials in Madrid during City’s visit to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

The meeting involved City chief executive Ferran Soriano and sporting director Hugo Viana. Discussions reportedly included Haaland, although the plan is not about an immediate transfer. Instead, Font is believed to be seeking a preferential understanding that would give Barcelona an advantage if the Norwegian striker becomes available in the future. Haaland, who has scored 363 career goals by the age of 25, signed a 10-year contract with Manchester City in 2024 that runs until 2034. His current market value is estimated at $230.6 million according to Transfermarkt, making any near term transfer extremely unlikely.

Meanwhile, his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, dismissed the rumours, stating that there has been no contact with Barcelona and that the striker is very happy at Manchester City. She also confirmed that her contracts usually include release clauses, although the exact figure in Haaland’s deal remains unknown.
