Luka Modrić has dismissed speculation about returning to Real Madrid despite interest linked with coach Massimiliano Allegri. The 40 year old midfielder, currently playing for AC Milan, said he is happy in Milan and not considering a move. Allegri also confirmed his commitment to Milan.

After the departures of Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos, Real Madrid have struggled to find the same level of creativity and control in midfield this season. Both players were central figures in the club’s success for more than a decade, and their absence has left a clear gap in the team’s playmaking ability. To address the issue, the club invested in younger midfielders such as Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga.

However, neither player has yet fully replaced the creative influence that Modrić once provided. As a result, strengthening the midfield has become one of the key priorities for the next transfer window. Recent speculation suggested that Modrić could make a sensational return to the Santiago Bernabéu. The 40 year old Croatian, currently playing for AC Milan, has continued to perform at a high level in Serie A and remains an influential figure for his club. Reports even claimed that coach Massimiliano Allegri admired the veteran midfielder and might consider bringing him back to Madrid.

However, Modrić dismissed those rumors and confirmed that he is happy at Milan and focused on his current contract. Allegri also clarified that he plans to stay with the Italian club until 2027. This means Florentino Pérez and the Real Madrid management must continue exploring other midfield options for the future.
