After missing out the entire season 6, Surender Nada has failed to recover from the hand injury that he suffered in the first game last year and has been ruled out from the ongoing edition of PKL. The three-time champions have called in all-rounder Monu as his replacement for the season.

Not only the defeat at the hands of Bengaluru Bulls in the first game, but there is more reason for the Patna fans to be disappointed as their star defender Surender Nada has been ruled out from the competition. This comes as a big blow for Ram Mehar Singh and team and they had to bring in all-rounder Monu as his replacement in the squad.

"Surendra has been deemed unfit by an expert team of doctors and he is still to recover fully from his injury that he sustained last season. We took multiple opinions, but unfortunately all the experts have advised him to stay off the mat," a team source told IANS.

The left corner defender was roped in at the auctions earlier in April for a whopping Rs 77 lakh. However, the senior pro failed to recover in time and now will miss another season in the league. He had suffered a hand injury in Haryana Steelers’ first match against Puneri Paltan in 2018 and was not a part of the team for the rest of the sixth season.
