IPKL 2019 | Chennai hold Mumbai to a draw; Diler Delhi register easy win against Telugu Bulls

On the sixth day of the inaugural edition of the Indo International Premier League (IPKL), the game between Chennai Challengers and Mumbai Che Raje ended on a 34-34 draw. Earlier in the evening, Diler Delhi put up a good show against Telugu Bulls and won the match by 40-31 points.

Saturday evening saw two entertaining encounters on the mat at Balewadi, Pune. The most interesting one was the tie between Chennai Challengers and Mumbai Che Raje. Both the teams got off to a good start and they matched raid by raid. The first quarter was taken away by Mumbai Che Raje by three points but Chennai ensured they bounced back strongly in the second one and at half-time Mumbai could only have the three-point lead.

Chennai Challengers posed a tough challenge in the next 20 minutes of the game and after two intriguing quarters, the end result was a tie with 34 points to each team. Chennai all-rounder Namdev Iswalkar was named the Player of the Match for his four raid and six tackle points in the match.

Earlier in the day, it was a match for the Chhillars to remember as Hardeep and Sandeep starred in the raiding and defensive units respectively to ensure a comfortable victory for Diler Delhi against Telugu Bulls. Although the Bulls asserted dominance in the first quarter of the game by taking a 13-7 lead and also managed to maintain the lead after the second one, Delhi made a good comeback.

Hardeep led from the front in the raiding unit after that to steer Delhi to a nine-point win at the end of the game. For his six raid and two tackle points, Hardeep was adjudged Man of the Match. Sunil Jaipal also had a great day at the office for the team from national capital with a total of 10 points while Sandeep gathered four tackle points in the game.
