Watch: Malinga picks his fourth international hat-trick against Bangladesh
Lasith Malinga took a hat-trick in the second T20I against Bangladesh in Colombo on Thursday, securing his fourth international hat-trick. Malinga dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Mehedi Hasan Miraz in three consecutive deliveries to achieve this glorious feat.
When it comes to incisiveness in death-bowling, there are a few bowlers in the world who is as clinical as the aging Sri Lankan spearhead. Lasith Malinga showed his exceptional skills with the ball in the 18th over against Bangladesh.
With a slow dipping off-cutter, Malinga sent Bangladesh wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim packing, making him the first victim of the spell. Rahim looked threatening as he went on to score 15 off just 6 balls before being dismissed by Malinga.
Masrafe Mortaza walked onto the crease to face the death-overs specialist. The Bangla captain, who was playing his last T20I last night, lasted for only one delivery as Malinga bowled him with a full-length ball that dipped and knocked the middle stump out.
The yorker specialist completed his hat-trick with the wicket of Mehedi Hasan. The batsman was unable to judge the slower full-length delivery and was caught plumb in front of the stumps.
Malinga's bowling endeavour restricted Bangladesh to 179 when they looked strong at 152/4 after 17 overs.
