Hashim Amla's sublime century for KXIP was overshadowed by some explosive batting by Jos Buttler, Nitish Rana, and Parthiv Patel. MI made a mockery of the 199 target that Punjab set and the Twitterati had a field day praising Amla and the Mumbai batsmen while having their usual dig at Ishant Sharma.

Brief Scores: Kings XI Punjab 198/4 (Hashim Amla 104*, Glenn Maxwell 40; Mitchell McClenaghan 2/46, Krunal Pandya 1/29) lost to Mumbai Indians 199/2 (Jos Buttler 77, Nitish Rana 62*; Marcus Stoinis 1/28, Mohit Sharma 1/29) by 8 wickets.

Pre match banter

The match had a soporific start

Before Amla (who scored a century)

And Ashok Dinda was spotted on the field

The question on people's lips: can Sir Ishant influence the match?

Of course he can!

KXIP, just before getting hit for 27 runs in 2 overs

Ashok Dinda again

In the end, entertainment, entertainment, entertainment
