Today the Pune crowd were fortunate enough to witness MS Dhoni pull a vintage move which resulted in the dismissal of the dangerous Sunil Narine early on in the chase. Although Pune lost the match eventually thanks to a blitzkrieg by Robin Uthappa, Dhoni gave the IPL a highlight reel once again.

When we talk about innovation in cricket, MS Dhoni's name is sure to pop up sooner or later. Today Dhoni used an old tactic of his and made Sunil Narine look like a school-boy running between the wickets.

The incident in question took place in the 3rd over when Washington Sundar was brought on to bowl. On the 4th delivery of the tight over, Gambhir played the ball with soft hands towards the short fine leg and called Narine for a quick single. Narine looked to be struggling between the wickets and Shradul Thakur threw the ball underarm towards the batsman's end. Dhoni's great game awareness came into play when Thakur's throw was deflected by the Pune keeper onto the stumps with ease leaving Narine short of the crease.

We definitely hope to see more of such vintage Dhoni moments as the tournament progresses.
