Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan to play for World XI against Sri Lanka

Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa along with former Pakistan players Shahid Afridi and Misbah-ul-Haq confirmed their availability for the World XI team which was scheduled to play a fundraiser against Sri Lanka on September 8. But SLC have postponed the game to a future undecided date.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) scheduled a charity Twenty20 match between a World XI and Sri Lanka XI on September 8 at the R Premadasa Stadium. But according to Cricbuzz, Ashley de Silva, Chief Executive Officer, SLC, issued an official statement which postponed the game due to the hectic schedule of the Sri Lankan team. The management wanted to give their players some much deserved rest after several months of intense cricket. 

This game will be played to help to raise funds for the flood victims and patients suffering from the chronic kidney disease prevalent in Sri Lanka. 

Earlier, SLC had confirmed that in the World XI squad players from as many as seven countries. Raina, Pathan, and Uthappa have already confirmed their interest along with Afridi and Misbah-ul-Haq for the charitable cause.
