There are moments when even people who have been watching the sport for ages are left dumbfounded by moments that occur on the field. After Ali was dismissed by a stunning catch by Nathan Lyon, Slater, while commentating, could not control his emotions to the amusement of Vaughan and Pietersen.

In the Adelaide Test, Australia had already taken control of the Test after declaring their first innings at 442/8 and restricting the visitors to 132/5 thanks to the exceptional bowling firepower. England were hoping that their last batting pair could pull them out of the mess they were in and it appeared like that might be the case as Ali and Johny Bairstow put up a comfortable 30 run partnership. It took a moment of magic from Lyon to put the hosts back on top.

The incident occurred in the 49th over, when Ali, who was batting on 25, tried to push a Lyon delivery down the ground but was not able to get his timing right. The ball came off the willow and appeared to be headed towards mid on before Lyon decided to have his say. The off-spinner put in a dive to his left and managed to pluck the ball out of midair with a one-handed beauty. Replays suggested that the bowler hand managed to the take the catch despite being afforded just 0.865 seconds of reaction time.

While the catch was the highlight of the incident, it was quickly followed by Michael Slater brilliant reaction that was equally eye catching. Slater who was watching the game from the commentary box jumped to his feet and started yelling, “That is a blinder from Nathan Lyon!. Again it’s another game-changer for Australia.” His commentary partners, Kevin Pietersen and Michael Vaughan, could not help but laugh at their colleague's antics.
