Pakistani opener Fakhar Zaman revealed that Virat Kohli sledged him and Azhar Ali by saying 'if we get one wicket the rest will follow' while Jasprit Bumrah, too, had a go at the opener during the Champions Trophy final. Zaman went on to score 114 in the match as Pakistan lifted their maiden title.

Fakhar Zaman played a pivotal role in Pakistan's 180-run victory over India in the Champions Trophy final. Zaman along with Azhar Ali put up a 128-run opening stand before slamming his maiden hundred as Pakistan posted a monstrous 338 runs on the board. Hasan Ali and Mohammed Amir, then, followed it up with a dazzling bowling performance bundling out India for a paltry 158.

However, Zaman said that he was sledged by Kohli and Bumrah while he was at the crease during the Champions Trophy final. Zaman was caught behind for 3 early on in the final only to be given not out as it was a no ball.

“There was a lot of chatter when Azhar Ali and I were at the crease. Virat was constantly saying, "Arre, ek wicket nikaljayegatoh yeh saare out ho jaayenge. Bas ekkonikaalojaldi (If we get one wicket, the rest will collapse)," Zaman was quoted as saying by Firstpost.

“Bumrah had me caught behind, but it was off a no ball. So, he was also very vocal. On one occasion, he said, "Thoda saamnebhi run banaa le. Kab takaisekhelega? (Make some runs in front of the wicket. How long are you going to play like this?)," added Fakhar.

However, the 27-year old admitted that the words used during the game were permissible and "cricket-related".

“But to be honest, the Indian players didn’t cross any line. Actually, that was purely cricket-related and positive sledging, which is fine. Everyone wants to see his team win and they do their best to achieve that,” added the Pakistan opener.

Who will take more wickets? Samuel Badree or Ravindra Jadeja?
