It’s always nice to see a youngster perform well on foreign soil and the performance of Rishabh Pant was commendable but Stuart Broad didn’t seem to be in the mood for congratulatory remarks. Broad was caught on camera directing explicit remarks towards Pant after he claimed the youngster's wicket.

Virat Kohli-led team India looked like a rejuvenated bunch of players as they came out at Trent Bridge with their guns blazing as they were put to bat by Joe Root. Openers KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan gave India the start they missed out on in the first two matches and after that Kohli and Rahane put up a brilliant 159-run stand to put the visitors in a commanding position towards the end of the day one.

After Kohli was dismissed for 97, youngster Rishabh Pant made his much-awaited debut and what a way to begin than with a six as the first scoring shot in Test cricket. He became the first Indian Test debutant to do so and continued to look solid for the Indian team as he was chosen in place of the misfiring Dinesh Karthik.

Pant, along with Ravichandran Ashwin took to the crease on day two at Trent Bridge, as India looked to set a strong total on the board. But the 20-year old was unlucky to get an inside edge off a Stuart Broad delivery to be dismissed for 24. Despite the youngster’s impressive performance, Broad did not look to congratulate him but chose to mutter some harsh words towards the Indian. Surely Broad could have avoided doing something like that!
