The Rishabh Pant-Tim Paine verbal duel has gone to such a level that it is no more entertaining. After Paine sledged Pant behind the stumps yesterday but was well within the line while making the comments, Pant called Paine “the most temporary captain ever” and was warned by Ian Gould for the same.

Tim Paine has led the team from the front and in one of the most difficult phases of the Australian cricket, he made sure that Australian cricket is slowly on their way to gain back the trust of the public. While he never shy away from using odd banter so as to keep the tempo of the game going, he also praised Virat Kohli in the press conference by playing down every controversy. However, Rishabh Pant decided to sledge him by calling “the most temporary captain ever”.

When Australia lost their fifth wicket, Paine arrived at the crease in a bid to take the game as long as possible, but Pant was loud in his voice and started sledging the Aussie skipper.

“He is the most temporary captain ever, Guys. It is not a problem to get him out,” Pant started screaming while Paine remained silent.

However, the offensive words didn’t go down well with umpire Ian Gould who called Pant to warn that he shouldn’t cross his behavioural limits. In the break time, Gould was seen involved in an animated discussion with Virat Kohli and Pant.
