Catches win matches they say, but run-outs also are significant when it comes to claiming the right wickets at the right time in a game. One of CSK’s latest recruits, Lungi Ngidi, missed an easy opportunity to inflict a run out while Mohammed Siraj was flat on his back in the middle of the pitch.

The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have been a force to be reckoned with in this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League where they find themselves second on the points table after winning six of their first nine games. But off late the boys in yellow have seen a drop in form with ‘captain cool’ Dhoni also demanding more from his bowlers and a better performance while fielding too.

The bowlers seemed to step up their performance in today’s game with debutant David Willey, Harbhajan Singh and Ravindra Jadeja putting in some good performances to restrict RCB to 127 after 20 overs. South African bowler Lungi Ngidi who is playing his first IPL tournament this year has also performed reasonably well with the ball in the matches that he ended playing in. But when it comes to his performance as a fielder, one could say there’s a lot of room for improvement for the young pacer.

After failing to stop a Tim Southee mishit from clearing the ropes during the match, Ngidi was given a chance to redeem himself after a mix up between Southee and Mohammed Siraj saw the latter twist something and go down like a sack of potatoes in the middle of the wicket. All Ngidi had to do was throw the ball to Dwayne Bravo at the non-striker’s end who could easily send the injured Siraj back to the dressing room. However, to everyone's surprise, Ngidi missed Bravo. Not just missed but missed him by a country mile as the ball found its way to long off. Seeing this Siraj got to his feet and managed to make his way to the non striker's end.
