Variety would be a batsman's biggest strength when it comes to the T20 format, no matter which country he is playing, and young Rishabh Pant showed he has that in abundance as was seen tonight. He was on fire against SRH as he took on Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for 26 runs in the last over of the innings.

Rishabh Pant has been in the headline multiple times ahead of the 2018 IPL season for his stupendous domestic innings. The left-handed batsman cum wicket-keeper has already notched up 521 runs from just 11 matches this year despite his team occupying the last position in the league standings.

The youngster looked to be in fine form on Thursday as well as he went about hitting the bowlers all around the park and the best part was how he easy made it look while doing it. Pant surely made up for the two run-outs of skipper Shreyas Iyer and Harshal Patel that he was at mostly at fault with possibly the innings of the tournament, as he hit 128 off 63 balls.

The most devastating over was the last one of the first innings, which was bowled by the SRH's trusted Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has the reputation of being the death-over specialist. Kumar started the over on a good note as he claimed the wicket of Glenn Maxwell who looked to go big but was caught by Alex Hales. But what followed next was absolute mayhem.

Pant went on a rampage as he scooped the first two deliveries from outside to over the man at short third for consecutive boundaries. Then he dispatched a rather short-pitched delivery for a maximum. It was followed by the best shot of his knock as he sent the delivery straight down the ground with just one hand following which he flicked a length ball on the leg-side with full power to end the innings with a six. Kumar finished with figures of 1/55 as DD posted a total of 187/5.
