After having previously played in International T20 Leagues such as Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League and Mzansi Super League, Dale Steyn will participate in the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam. The league is scheduled to kick off later this year, from August 30.

In what comes as a major boost for the latest International T20 League Euro T20 Slam, South African speedster Dale Steyn has signed up to play for the tournament as a 'marquee' player.  As reported by ESPNcricinfo, the tournament will be played between six franchises and jointly hosted by Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland. The inaugural edition is set to commence from August 30.

Having already announced six marquee players - Shahid Afridi, Chris Lynn, Shane Watson, Babar Azam, Brendon McCullum and Luke Ronchi, Steyn will join the competition as the seventh marquee player. Earlier this week, legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was rumoured to sign up to play in the Euro T20 Slam, although there has been no official word on the matter.

After picking up a shoulder injury in the Indian Premier League playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the 36-year-old was subsequently ruled out of the World Cup after picking up a second shoulder injury, which to Steyn's dismay, did not respond to treatment. Steyn is the all-time highest wicket-taker for the Proteas in Tests with 439 wickets.
