It was another dull start from the Kiwis. Fair to say, they bit a bullet by opting to bat on a greenish looking track. Guptill was positive, but his knock didn't last long. Guptill using up a review meant that Ross Taylor was red-faced, as he wasn't able to use a review, despite being not out.

England is playing a World Cup final after 27 years. The Hosts now have a huge chance to win the World Cup final against New Zealand at Lord's. In the last five ODI's played at this venue between 2018-2019, the team batting first have won first with an average score of 281.4. New Zealand made the perfect decision to bat first after winning the toss, but managed to post just 241 on the board. It can be said that the hosts England now have the upper hand in the battle as they restricted the Kiwis to a modest score. The onus will now be on their batsmen to bring home the cup.
