When it’s not your day, no matter what you do and how you do it, lady luck will always be against you. That is exactly how Virat Kohli must be feeling especially after witnessing the embarrassing dismissal of Colin de Grandhomme by Vijay Shankar, who intelligently effected two run-outs on a no-ball.

The RCB innings were filled with blunders and mistakes that ultimately summed up their outing against Bhuvaneshwar Kumar & Co. However, one incident that stood out and was definitely one of the more embarrassing events in the game was the dismissal of Kiwi all-rounder - Colin de Grandhomme.

The entire Bangalore batting line-up, including Kohli, failed to get going at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad but the Kiwi showed some character and kept the scoreboard ticking for the visitors. However, the RCB batsman was sent back to the pavilion in hilarious fashion in the 19th over bowled by India all-rounder Vijay Shankar.

With Mohammed Siraj on strike, Shankar bowled a low full toss outside off which Siraj hit to extra cover and hoped to sneak in for a quick single. At the non-striker’s end, de Grandhomme took a few yards before backing out. Both the batsmen were trying to return back to the crease and the throw from the fielder, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, came to the non-striker's end.

Grandhomme was pretty lazy in grounding his bat as Shankar broke the stumps while the RCB player was still out of his crease. There was also another run-out chance at the striker's end as Siraj was struggling to make his ground. Shankar aimed the throw to wicket-keeper Bairstow, who whipped the bails off at the other end as well.

While the umpire had already signalled a no-ball, reviews had shown that Shankar successfully dismissed Grandhomme before Bairstow could break the stumps at the striker's end. Comedy of errors? yes. indeed.

Have you ever heard the rural tale that the tree gives back to his owner if the owner takes care of the tree's well-being. MS Dhoni’s relationship with the stumps was pretty much the same as the bails didn't move despite the ball rolling to hit the middle-stump, which left Ben Stokes perplexed.
