IPL 2019 | Will be glued to TV for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s match, says Chris Lynn

Kolkata Knight Riders have won two games on the trot now whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their previous game. This means that both the sides now have 12 points with one more game to go in the league stage. SRH has a much superior net run rate of +0.653 whereas KKR has a net run rate of +0.173. 

SRH will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium today and KKR will be keenly watching this game hoping that the Orange Army loses by a big margin, as pointed out by Chris Lynn.

“I am not a TV person but will be glued to the TV for the Sunrisers game tomorrow (Saturday),” he said at the post-match presentation ceremony, reported Cricbuzz. 

KKR had an unwanted losing streak of six games but they bounced back with a thumping victory against Mumbai Indians on April 28 followed by another win against Kings XI Punjab on Friday. Skipper Dinesh Karthik had lost his cool over the bowlers and the fielders’ lethargic approach in the virtual knock-out encounter but they eventually chased down KXIP’s target of 184 with seven wickets in hand. Lynn was delighted that the side has gotten back to winning ways.

“It is good to play with smile, we missed that in the last couple of games. Boys put on a good show tonight. He (Karthik) lost his bowels there but that is DK and we have lived upto it in the last couple of weeks,” expressed the Australia cricketer.

In the first innings, pacer Sandeep Warrier had dismissed Chris Gayle and KL Rahul within the fourth over itself but Sam Curran’s blistering fifty ensured that KXIP reached a defendable total. In reply, KKR started exceedingly well as Lynn smashed 46 off 22 balls in the powerplay before getting dismissed in the final ball of the sixth over. Gill’s 65 off 49 deliveries coupled with the skipper’s nine-ball 21-run innings finished the match before two overs. Lynn felt the match slipped from their hands for a few moments but was happy that they pulled it back.

“We got a couple of wickets early but Sam Curran got them to a decent total in the end. We were clinical with the bat. It was a good wicket, momentum is massive in this game. We lost it in the back end but grabbed it back quickly. Gill was brilliant for us,” signed off the 29-year-old.
