Ravi Shastri is confident that if Virat Kohli-led India play to their full potential, they will definitely win the World Cup in the coming weeks. The Indian coach also heaped praise on his side's bowling attack who have stepped up their game in the last year with some promising performances.

The Indian cricket team ended their international season with a disappointing series loss to Australia on home soil. However, Ravi Shastri is confident that his players will be full of confidence as they head into the global showpiece event as favorites.

Shastri, who took over as coach from Anil Kumble, claimed that the Indian team can win the World Cup if they play to their full potential in the coming weeks.

“This team has played good cricket in last five years. They have been striving for consistency. They will not play any differently because it is the World Cup. They need to enjoy it and if they play to their potential the Cup can be ours,” Shastri said at the press conference.

Shastri, who played 80 Test matches for India, heaped praise on his experienced bowling unit who has been in terrific form since the South Africa series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah will be the premier pacers for India in the upcoming World Cup.

“This is an experienced unit. They have been together for the last 4-5 years, they have bowled as a unit together, they accomplished what they set out to do in Tests and the endeavour will be the same here as well, to complement each other and keep the pressure right through the 50 overs."
