Veer Pratap Singh’s solid 50 helped Chhattisgarh extend their dominance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, as they beat Jharkhand in a convincing manner. Meanwhile, Shubhanshu Senapati’s valiant 77 wasn’t of much help for Odisha as Delhi downed them to secure their second win of the tournament.

Chhattisgarh 123-3 (28.3) beat Jharkhand 119 all-out (29) by 7 wickets

After bossing Saurashtra in a completely one-sided encounter a couple of days ago, Jharkhand have been forced to bite the dust by a spirited Chhattisgarh team at the Just Cricket Academy Ground in Bengaluru, as the latter, riding on the five-wicket haul by Veer Pratap Singh, beat the Ishan Kishan-led team by seven wickets. Chasing 120, Chattisgarh hardly had to break a sweat as No.3 Ashutosh Singh hit a stoic 54 to guide the team home.

Delhi 299-6 (50) beat Odisha 236-8 (50) by 63 runs

Odisha’s hot and cold run continued for yet another game as the team were downed by a Shikhar Dhawan-less Delhi side in a convincing fashion. A Three-wicket haul by Suryakant Pradhan helped Odisha in the beginning but the pacer was a tad expensive, letting the momentum go away. Half-centuries from Anuj Rawat, skipper Dhruv Shorey and Nitish Rana guided Delhi to 299. Chasing 300, Odisha, sans skipper Subhranshu Senapati, hardly posed any challenge. Heroics by Rajesh Mohanty down the order was not enough as Delhi secured their second win from six matches.

Himachal Pradesh 214-8 (50) beat Haryana 130 all-out (38.2) by 84 runs

In a low-scoring encounter at the Sangramsinh Gaekwad Sports Academy in Vadodara, Himachal Pradesh bagged a huge win by 84 runs against Haryana to take their points tally to 16. Winning the toss, Himachal opener Priyanshu Khanduri defied Haryana's opening burst for a defiant 42 but the team kept on losing wickets after that on a regular basis. Amit Kumar’s lower-order 47 helped the team reach a respectable total of 214/8 but Mayank Dagar ensured he was too hot to handle. Haryana were then bundled out for 130, thus losing an easy chance to uplift their sagging fortunes.
