Indian batsman Hanuma Vihari, who was named Man of the Match in the second Test in Jamaica, has expressed his eagerness to play a home Test for his nation. Vihari has played six Tests till date, all of which have come away from home, but might finally play at home next month against South Africa.

There are some success stories, which are heart-warming to every single fan of the Sport, and Hanuma Vihari's is definitely one of them. Having toiled hard on the domestic circuit for almost a decade, Vihari finally got his shot at Test cricket last year. Despite impressing, the 25-year-old did not grab his opportunities by the scruff of its neck, but alas, in Jamaica, he put all of it behind him, as he struck his maiden Test century to help his team complete a 2-0 clean sweep.

But what's interesting to note is that all of Vihari's six Tests so far, have been played away from home, and come October, the man from Andhra Pradesh will finally get an opportunity to play in front of his own fans, with the first Test against South Africa scheduled to happen in Visakhapatnam.

"I have not played a Test at home, looking forward to it. It's great to play in front of the home crowd back in India," Vihari said in the post-match presentation, reported Times of India.

"It feels great to score my maiden Test century. I missed out on a hundred in the last match, so I was focusing on a big score this time. We were 200 for 5 and that was my goal while batting with Rishabh (Pant)," he added.

Despite seeing batsmen around him crumble, Vihari stood tall and beat the Windies by playing the patience game. He also revealed that it was a part of his game plan, to go along with his slightly more aggressive approach against the spinners.

"We had to be patient on this wicket as there was something in it for the fast bowlers. I was trying to take calculative risk against spinners, that was the game plan and it worked well for me."

The first Test against South Africa will commence on October 2nd at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
