When we met with Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, there was a lot of love and affection, says Mohammad Rizwan

Star wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan has revealed that when Pakistan players had met Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni after their contest at the T20 World Cup last year, there was a lot of love and affection between the two sides. Notably, Pakistan had beaten India in that game, that too by 10 wickets.

India endured a humiliating 10-wicket defeat against their arch-rivals Pakistan in the last T20 World Cup in the UAE. However, Virat Kohli, India's then all-format captain, went to Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to congratulate them with a smile on his face. They even hugged after the match by exchanging smiles, which went viral on the internet in no time.

Speaking about the moments, Rizwan came up his thoughts about Kohli's gesture, as well as their experience when they met MS Dhoni, India's mentor for that tournament's edition. Rizwan said it was a lot of love and affection between the two sides, although he also clarified his last month's comment -- 'Virat Kohli is ours'.

"It was the first time I had met Kohli. The kind of things I had heard about him as other players told me 'Virat is aggressive and all'. But the way he met me before and after the match was amazing. If I said 'he is our Virat Kohli', it's because we all are a family," Rizwan said while speaking on Waheed Khan's Youtube show Cricket Baaz on Monday.

"Obviously, when we enter the ground, no one is a star. There we have no brotherhood or anything of that sort. But outside the field, when we met Kohli, and some of our players also met MS Dhoni, we met with a lot of love and affection. Nothing was different."

India and Pakistan will again take on each other in the next T20 World Cup, on October 23 in Australia.
