In cricket, fortunes often hinge on a player's skill, yet fortune smiles upon the courageous. This scenario unfolded in the clash between the Delhi Capitals and the Gujarat Titans, where Rishabh Pant's stumping, tinged with luck led to Shahrukh Khan's dismissal exacerbating Gujarat's batting woes.

‌The home team got off to a rough beginning after losing the toss, seeing Shubman Gill depart in just the second over. Their troubles continued as key players B Sai Sudharsan and David Miller fell during the powerplay leaving the scoreboard at a dismal 30/4. Abhinav Manohar couldn't turn the tide either, succumbing to Tristan Stubbs' impressive bowling in the ninth over. Adding to their woes, the Proteas managed to dismiss Gujarat's impact substitute Shahrukh Khan in an unusual run-out orchestrated by Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant.
On the fifth delivery of the ninth over, Stubbs dished a down-the-leg stump line good-length delivery, that drifted a tad away from Shahrukh Khan who seemed to shimmy down the ground for a full-fledged heave. The impact sub missed a connection, getting beaten on the inside edge and Rishabh Pant tried to stump him behind the stumps. Although Pant was successful in his move, it was weird to see the ball deflect off his gloves into the wickets with the batter already out of the batting crease. The on-field umpire sent it upstairs and the TV umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal saw that the ball was breaking the wickets successfully even before the gloves touched the stumps.

Seeing a freakish stumping from Pant yield positive results for the visitors, the Twitterverse erupted.
