Intense pressure can often make a person sober leading to hiding sorrow or frustration. Such was the case with Mitchell Starc who failed to deliver for the Kolkata Knight Riders after being bagged for INR 24.75 in the IPL auction with Kuldeep Yadav's batting assault adding to the woes.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first did not yield desirable results for the Delhi Capitals as they lost their top order despite scoring 67 runs in the powerplay. Despite a few misfields the KKR bowlers were tight and reduced them to 112/8 in 15 overs. With the home side in the driving seat, Starc failed to continue the momentum as Kuldeep’s batting came out of the syllabus, adding up valuable runs with assistance from Harshit Rana’s poor fielding. 

After just a single off the first four deliveries in the 16th over, the Aussie quick bowled a short ball at the stumps that Kuldeep pulled it over the deep square leg region for a six, helped by Harshit Rana’s palmed. He ran along the ropes and tried to grab it but ended up patting it over the boundary ropes. Right after, Starc bowled down the leg stump that the keeper failed to block, leading to ‘five wides’. It was followed by a low full-toss at the leg stump that the southpaw flicked towards deep square leg for a four. 

Seeing Kuldeep counter-punch the hosts by taking on the most-priced player of the tournament, the Twitterverse exploded.
