BAN vs AFG | Twitter shocked as incensed Rashid flings bat at Karim after latter refuses run

Friendly fire is a concept largely alien to cricket as is the idea of flinging bats but Rashid Khan was out to break all conventions in St Vincent on Tuesday. The Afghan skipper could not contain his anger against Bangladesh after teammate Karim Janat refused to sacrifice his wicket at the death.

‌Afghanistan's dreams of a maiden World Cup semi-final appearance took a massive hit on Tuesday after the team managed a paltry 115/5 batting first albeit on a significantly difficult track. At one stage, the side seemed to be on course to not even get past the three-figure mark but three massive maximums in a crucial 10-ball cameo by Rashid Khan saved the Asian contingent the blushes and kept their hopes alive. However, the Afghan skipper's knock was explosive in more ways than one as he let his emotions take over in an ugly incident during the last over.

After dispatching the second ball beyond the boundary ropes, Rashid miscued the ensuing delivery but the Kookaburra fell in no man's land as Karim Janat and him scrambled between the wickets. To add to the Tiger's misery, the white rock took an unfortunate deflection of the fielder's knee, opening up the possibility of a double and Rashid seized it with both hands by sprinting down the deck. However, to his horror, Karim firmly denied his captain. Rashid had no choice but to turn back from the halfway mark of the strip but not before he smashed his bat onto the ground and towards Karim but thankfully no harm was done.

When Karim returned the willow to Rashid, the latter ranted away and quickly turned back in his teammate's face to further exacerbate the matter. Twiterati was rather displeased at the lack of sportsmanship displayed by the Afghan veteran.

That's not funny!

He was the saviour!

LOL!

Great one!

He is good hitter!

Great one on this pitch!

Funny!

Pathetic!

May be!

Hahaha!
