A batsman hitting a six doesn't just thrill the crowd, it leaves an indelible mark on the game's narrative. Such was the scene between a crucial encounter between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings where Punjab’s star opener Shikhar Dhawan showed great intent by smashing a switch-hit six.

Chasing 200 runs put up by the Lucknow Super Giants with great contributions from Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya, the hosts were off to a great start, courtesy of their openers. Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow took charge of the Punjab batting, slamming 16 runs in the opening two overs. Dhawan displayed his skills early on, striking two elegant fours off LSG’s newcomer Manimaran Siddharth in the third over. Yet, it was his final shot of the over that stole the show.

As Siddharth delivered a length ball to Dhawan on the last delivery of the third over, the Indian left-hander anticipated the line perfectly. With quick thinking, he changed his handedness and whipped across the line to help the ball maroon over the deep backward point region. Dhawan executed a switch hit with precision, and it resulted in a superb six, igniting cheers from the crowd.

Social media platforms buzzed with admiration for Dhawan's skill, with Twitter users lauding the former Indian opener's brilliance.
