Setbacks are part and parcel of an athlete’s career but injuries at delicate parts could be devastating. A similar happened with Jake Fraser-McGurk, who incurred a thud in the groin after failing to counter Trent Boult’s swing as Rajasthan Royals locked horns against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Sanju Samson summoned Trent Boult’s services with the new ball. The New Zealand pacer was quick to find lateral movement, and one of the deliveries left the right-handed youngster in agony after receiving a thud around the ground region in the first over itself.

Following a couple of dots, Trent Boult pitched the fourth ball of the over on a good length around the wicket, which nipped back in to cramp Fraser-McGurk for room. While the batter tried to smack it down the ground, he ended up getting whiskered past on the inside edge to suffer a thud at the box. Immediately, the Aussie was seen in utter pain and crouched below in agony. The cunning angle and some swing helped Boult to curb the aggressor from taking to the cleaners. However, seeing the opener agonising in pain, the Twitterverse exploded.

This is not fair

Heartless?

Too painful to watch

Poor guy

still in pain

Nasty

Still laughing?

Too much pain

Every man can felt

Thats cold
