Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties, but nothing is more uncertain than a batsman's luck. Such was the scene in the contest between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals where Yash Dayal’s smart presence of mind led to an unfortunate dismissal of Delhi’s Jake Fraser-McGurk.

‌After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Delhi Capitals enjoyed a fruitful start as they contained the home team to 187/9 in 10 overs. Despite a resilient effort from the home side, highlighted by Rajat Patidar's half-century, their innings faltered due to frequent dismissals, falling short of a 200+ total.

However, Delhi Capitals' batting got off to a shaky start with David Warner's early departure in the first over. The concerns escalated when Abishek Porel followed suit in the next over, leaving Delhi at 24/2 after two overs. To compound matters, Delhi star opener Jake Fraser-McGurk fell victim to an unfortunate run-out in the third over.

In the second ball of the third over, Yash Dayal delivered a full-length ball to Shai Hope, who executed a sublime straight drive. Dayal anticipated the trajectory well but could only manage to get fingertips to the rebounding ball. Moreover, the ball deflected onto the stumps at the non-striker's end as Fraser-McGurk attempted to regain his ground. Realizing his error, the Australian opener promptly walked back to the pavilion, while Virat Kohli, visibly charged up, embraced Dayal as Delhi's batting woes deepened.

The Twitter community showered praise on Dayal for his impeccable timing, flooding social media with discussions about the remarkable display of skill.
