A true champion waits for his moment, building his innings carefully and proving his worth with a century. This was evident in the final session of the third day of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Perth, where Virat Kohli stood out with a brilliant century culminating to a hilarious celebration.

‌The Indian batting line-up shone brightly, with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the way with a spectacular century. KL Rahul anchored the innings solidly, and the duo shared a record-breaking 201-run partnership. However, wickets began to fall as Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel were dismissed in quick succession, and Devdutt Padikkal struggled to regain form. It was Washington Sundar and Virat Kohli who then steadied the ship, pushing the score to 406/5 and extending India's lead to over 400 runs. Although Washington was dismissed, Nitish Kumar Reddy played aggressively while Kohli neared his century. The moment came when Kohli reached his ton, further extending India's lead to a commanding 533 runs.
It all unfolded in the 135th over when Marnus Labuschagne bowled a full-length delivery, pitching well outside the leg stump. Kohli, in his trademark style, got down on one knee and swept the ball behind square on the leg side. The ball sped past the diving fielder in the deep, who made a desperate chase and dive but couldn't prevent the boundary. Kohli, initially unaware that the ball had reached the boundary, stood still for a moment before looking to the square leg umpire, who confirmed the four. A smile spread across his face as he removed his helmet, looked skyward, and celebrated with a flying kiss to his wife in the stands. Twitter erupted with praise for Kohli's comeback century, as fans celebrated his milestone on social media.
