Laughter and comedy can be essential, especially during long days of a Test match. A lighthearted moment unfolded in the first Test between Pakistan and England, where Shan Masood and Joe Root shared a comic exchange after Harry Brook narrowly survived a bowled dismissal off Aamer Jamal.

‌England displayed their batting dominance against the Pakistan bowlers on a flat Multan pitch. Zak Crawley led the charge with 78 runs, followed closely by Ben Duckett's impressive 89. However, the highlight of the innings was Joe Root, who continued the stellar form, scoring his fifth century of the year. He and Harry Brook formed a formidable partnership, adding 153 runs as England reached 370/3 in 75 overs.

A humorous moment followed in the next over, involving Brook’s narrow escape and a playful exchange between Root and Shan Masood. On the fourth delivery of the 76th over, Jamal bowled a back-of-a-length delivery aimed at the stumps. Brook attempted to defend it off the back foot but ended up making contact with the toe end of his bat. The ball spun on the pitch after it hit Brook's gloves and pads and rolled towards the stumps. In a surprising twist, as the ball struck the stumps, the bails stayed intact, allowing Brook to survive. This prompted laughter from both Shan Masood and Joe Root, with the Pakistan skipper gesturing to Root that it was surely a divine intervention that spared Brook. The comic moment quickly made waves on social media, capturing the attention of the Twitterverse.
