When things don’t go your way, composure and backing your teammates become crucial. However, Lucknow skipper Rishabh Pant fell short of that standard during the clash against Mumbai Indians, as he was seen visibly reprimanding Avesh Khan for his inconsistent line to Suryakumar Yadav.

‌Mumbai Indians felt the absence of Rohit Sharma at the top, with openers Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks falling cheaply within the powerplay. However, Naman Dhir and Suryakumar Yadav steadied the innings and stitched together a vital partnership and took the score to 86/2 by the eighth over. The stand was eventually broken by Digvesh Singh Rathi, who dismissed Dhir just as Mumbai looked to accelerate. But Suryakumar Yadav looked in sublime touch, taking the attack to the LSG bowlers. His aggression was on full display when he struck Avesh Khan for back-to-back boundaries, which left LSG skipper Rishabh Pant visibly frustrated skipper Rishabh Pant, appearing animated and unhappy with Avesh’s execution.

On the second ball of the 11th over, Avesh Khan offered a full delivery outside off as Surya opened the face of the bat and timed a square drive past backward point for four. The very next delivery saw Avesh repeat the same error as he dished an overpitched ball around the fourth stump. This time, Surya leaned into the shot and unleashed a textbook cover drive that raced to the boundary. The back-to-back boundaries triggered an animated reaction from skipper Rishabh Pant who was visibly furious with Avesh’s repetitive line. Gesturing in frustration, Pant questioned the rationale behind bowling in Suryakumar’s hitting arc, knowing the batter was in prime form. Pant’s visible outburst quickly caught the attention of fans, sparking chatter across social media platforms.
