Even the finest fielders are not immune to rare lapses, and Virat Kohli experienced one of those moments in Jaipur against the Rajasthan Royals. Stationed at long-off, a spot he usually commands with precision, the former RCB skipper spilled a straightforward catch offered by Dhruv Jurel.

‌Bengaluru skipper Rajat Patidar opted to field first in Jaipur, where Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson gave Rajasthan a steady start at 45/0 in the powerplay, despite Samson surviving three run-out chances before falling to Krunal Pandya in the seventh over. Jaiswal brought up his fifty in 35 balls and along with Riyan Parag, took the score to 107/2 by the 14th over before Parag fell to Yash Dayal. RCB’s disciplined bowling paid off as Josh Hazlewood removed Jaiswal for 75 off 47 in the 16th over, halting Rajasthan's momentum. Additionally, Bengaluru’s lapse in the field was seen when Virat Kohli missed an easy catch.

On the final ball of the 17th over, Suyash Sharma delivered a full-length delivery on middle and off. Dhruv Jurel stepped forward, aiming to clear the ropes with a big hit. However, the bat face turned slightly in his hand, which caused him to mistime the shot. The ball was lofted high but lacked the power, slicing towards long-off where Kohli was stationed. In an unusual turn of events, the ball slipped from Kohli’s grasp, and he dropped an easy catch. The 36-year-old looked visibly disappointed with his error, as fans on social media buzzed about this rare misstep from the cricketing legend.

Wait what?
