If you’re good at something, and get to showcase it in front of the world, even the best in the business would take to applaud the genius. Mystery wrist spinner Abrar Ahmed left Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli dumbfounded after knocking the 25-year-old with a ripper of a delivery in Lahore.

Despite losing the openers inside the first ten overs, a 104-run partnership for the third wicket between Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel laid the foundation for a 200-plus total before the Indian bowlers dragged the game into their court after the second refreshment break. Highlighted by three-fer from Kuldeep Yadav, Pakistan was curbed to 241 runs before Rohit Sharma’s blitz in the chase was curtailed down by a Shaheen Afridi yorker. Despite the jitter, Kohli and Gill continued their flourish with the willow, adding 69 runs together before Abrar’s introduction outsmarted the youngster.

Yet again, a wicket fell post-drinks brink in the game with Gill failing to read a leg break from Abrar. The right-arm leggie came over the wicket and pitched the ball on a length stump line that turned square and beat the bat’s outside edge to castle the timber. Gill played for the line and was dumbfounded by the drift and turn-off Abrar. Subsequently, the spinner brought out his trademark celebration – getting his arms crossed and sheepishly gesturing towards the dugout with a nod. Simultaneously, Kohli at the non-striker’s end was seen animated as he was awed by the drift and turn, sparking Twitterverse buzz.
